#56 – Capitol

I’ve been inspired by the book “The Hunger Games” – capitol city where it’s described that people take a risk of looking out-there in some way. I don’t know if this is really “out there” but it was fun to do and a challenge to find make-up. The coat from Bliss Couture was surprisingly detailed and a lot of fun to open up and wear. I actually did a “OoOOo” as soon as it rezzed on me. It’s not typically the kind of coat I’d run out to buy, because of it’s aristocratic, poshy look on the rack. I see now it has many uses, and can transform in whatever style you want it to be.

#55 – Dark Dior Night

This is what I wore today. It’s Dior inspired, however the colors are the opposite end of the spectrum from the photo that brought the idea on. What can I say? I work with what utensils I have and fly, literally, by the seat of my pants when the mood strikes me. Though this look only mildly close to the gorgeous photo in my book, I feel it’s something unique and mine.

 

Osakki was one of my favorite designers in SL. Her clothing is definitely innovative and unique. I remember when I first found her store, and I bought every pair of shoe. A few months ago I wasn’t aware there were other shoe stores and was scared I wouldn’t find anything as good. So far, they’ve stood the test of time, which is SL, can be a matter of weeks. Send her a wonderful farewell, and stop by her store before it closes Feb 14th for her final sale. :)

#54 – Pretty in Pink

The movie Pretty in Pink is on tonight and I, coincidentally, was wearing pink in SL. I decided to not be so hum glum today, and went the opposite way. I LOVE MESH! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT ! I  LOVE IT! THANK THE SLGOD FOR IT! It’s so neat (when your viewer cache doesn’t fill up too fast). Maitreya and Mon tissu, for me, are definitely the front runner’s in making mesh at the moment. So most of the blogs you’ll see with mesh items usually mix and match these two together.

#53 Mourning

Sometimes there are people that you will never meet who manage to touch your heart. They can be blue. They can be purple. Rich, or poor.  Perhaps they’re across the planet, but somehow they can mean so much to you and affect your life in such a moving way. I grew up using the internet starting off with chatting on AOL and then going to other various games. I know the bonds that we create with people through this form of media are very real. For the most part, it’s an nondiscriminatory kind of love. Though it’s not very physically impeding, it’s the kind that sprawls across your back like a warm shawl. It coats over you and protects you throughout the day — you have that friend that will listen to your troubles, celebrate your achievements, and laugh when you type or say something insanely retarded all without judging -you-. The fake, and frivolous, and sometimes snobby person that you are in your real life. The bratty, and spoiled, and self-conceited child that you present yourself to be is loved by somebody who knows the real you.

I am so very blessed to have had him as my best friend online and in my real life. I am so selfishly sad that he has to leave this world. And I wonder who will text me tomorrow. Who will make fun my avatar or my newest hobby and laugh at all the strange things I put her in.  Who will I play scrabble with? I am blessed to have had such a wonderful friend who has truly touched me, and I hope that everybody can find somebody the same.

#52 – best pals

So Kera and I were shopping for skins and I said to her, “I hate jump suits. I buy them and then never wear them.” SO, of course being Kera she goes “Let’s buy one and style it!”  Ugh. I have to say I wasn’t originally keen on the idea, but we got these fab jump suits and went to work. Oh, and the jumpsuit is only 100L’s in several colors :P

I like this jumpsuit mainly for it’s plush texture which has a leathery feel to it. The accessories came mainly from The Dressing Room Blue, which has AMAZING things in it this week. I would definitely take a stop by there. The hair piece is one of my favorites and I’m sure it can be styled to our winter themes. The bag from LaGyo is absolutely FAB. I’ve gone to buy other variations at the store, but I still couldn’t resist getting this combo at The Dressing Room.

#51 – my dior gowns

Today is one of those gloomy, rainy days after such a wonderful Christmas. I suppose it’s kind of fitting. I have to start counting down the days when I have to return to work. Perhaps I’ll have all these styles out of my  system.

I’ve really enjoyed recreating my own Dior Formal Line. It’s been an outstanding blast. I can’t really place a year to this piece, except perhaps 2011? lol. Either way it has a ton of components that I love. I have to stop spending L’s now, so I’ll be trying to recreate from my inventory.

Now that’s a real challenge.

#50? Really?!

This makes my 50th (ish) styling on my blog. Yay! *confetti toss*  I saw this dress during the MVW pageant and it’s one of the ONLY ones that spoke to me, and the only one that I’ve bought. I love it dearly. Especially the intricate detail in the sculpt and shape of the skirt, the elaborate feathers, and the fringed lace. Love love love. During my extensive research of dior, these are components he uses in one of his fall collection lines from 1999. Though not so much lace (I couldn’t resist). Anyway, enjoy!

#49 Just Dior

This dress is dedicated to Dior Couture – something that I have learned to love. I got a pretty book for Christmas and I’m enthralled with it. More inspiration to come!
